BALLARAT PROJECT -
FOOTSCRAY RENOVATION

Located along the Maribyrnong River in Footscray, we worked with the team from Circle Studio to revamp an old apartment. When we started, there was some minor termite damage to the structural beams holding up the second storey. We were able to safely replace these which also allowed us to open up the kitchen and living room. Upstairs, we guttered the existing bathroom which had extensive water damage and incorporated a laundry into the small area.

The kitchen became the main centrepiece of the home. We used Maxiply Plywood for the cupboards, with the main attraction being the curved island bench. This was clad in a shiplap timber and oiled to create a 3D effect which tied in perfectly with the Messmate bench-top. In the bathroom, it was all about colour - a mix of green, blue and white tiles with a blue concrete sink.

We were lucky enough to have this project featured on the Lunchbox Architect Blog.
